<strong>Verify that TCP/IP is active on your local system.</strong>
<p>To verify that TCP/IP is active on your local system, follow these steps:
<ol><li>At the i5/OS<SUP>(R)</SUP> command line, type <TT>STRTCP</TT>.</li>
<li>Verify that TCP/IP has started:
<ul>
<li>If TCP/IP was already active when you entered STRTCP, you should receive the message <TT>TCP/IP currently active</TT>.</li>
<li>If TCP/IP was not active and STRTCP started TCP/IP successfully, you should receive the message <TT>STRTCP completed successfully</TT>.</li></ul></li></ol>
