To verify that TCP/IP is active on your local system, follow these steps:

At the i5/OS^(R) command line, type STRTCP.
Verify that TCP/IP has started:
- If TCP/IP was already active when you entered STRTCP, you should receive the message TCP/IP currently active.
- If TCP/IP was not active and STRTCP started TCP/IP successfully, you should receive the message STRTCP completed successfully.
