HyperTerminal is a Windows® application used for connecting
to various sources and is supplied by all Windows operating systems on the install
media, though may not be automatically installed. When the local console directly
attached to the server does not connect, you can use HyperTerminal to determine
if the PC has connectivity to the server.
Note: - The data is slow to appear so be certain to allow a 15 - 20 seconds for
an action to complete before moving to the next step. Also keep in mind that
some steps may not provide data to the window. Wait a little time and then
continue.
- The following example was performed on a Windows 2000 PC. Other operating systems
may have slight differences in the presentation of options. The important
part of this test is getting a response back from the NEGOTIATE at the end
of the document.
