When you move disk units among logical partitions or servers, you
may need to erase any old configuration data before the server can use the
logical partition again.
You need to clear the configuration data when the disk unit has
all of the following characteristics:
- A system reference code (SRC) of B600 5311 displays in the product activity
log (PAL) against a nonconfigured disk unit.
- It is no longer a load source in its own logical partition.
- It is originally from a different logical partition where it was a load
source, or it is from a different server that had logical partitions.
This procedure erases only logical partition data. No system or user
data is affected.
Perform this procedure from a dedicated service tools
(DST) display:
- Go to the DST menu.
- Select option 11 (Work with system partitions).
- Select option 4 (Recover configuration data).
- Select option 3 (Clear non-configured disk unit configuration data).
- Select the disk unit with the configuration data you want to erase.
Type a 1 in the Opt field to the left of the disk unit listing.
- Press the Enter key.
- Confirm that you truly do want to erase the configuration data.
- The changes take effect immediately.
