<div><p>This topic discusses how to work with your integrated Linux<sup>®</sup> server
|
||
|
|
using CL commands.</p>
|
||
|
|
<p>There are two CL commands that you use regularly when managing integrated Linux servers.</p>
|
||
|
|
<ul><li>Work with Configuration Status (Network Server Descriptions) <span class="cmdname">WRKNCFGSTS
|
||
|
|
*NWS</span></li>
|
||
|
|
<li>Work with Network Server Descriptions <span class="cmdname">WRKNWSD</span></li>
|
||
|
|
</ul>
|
||
|
|
<p>These commands display a list of the Linux, Windows, and AIX<sup>®</sup> network server descriptions
|
||
|
|
(NWSDs), and are similar to the Integrated Server Administration - Servers
|
||
|
|
option of iSeries™ Navigator.
|
||
|
|
Note that you cannot change the way the data is arranged on these displays.</p>
|
||
|
|
<div class="section"><h4 class="sectiontitle">WRKCFGSTS *NWS</h4><p>The WRKCFGSTS *NWS display shows
|
||
|
|
the status of each NWSD and its associated objects.</p>
|
||
|
|
<p>Type <kbd class="userinput">WRKCFGSTS
|
||
|
|
*NWS</kbd> on the <span class="keyword">i5/OS™</span> command
|
||
|
|
line and press <span class="uicontrol">Enter</span>. You see a list of the Linux, Windows<sup>®</sup>,
|
||
|
|
and AIX NWSDs, and their statuses.</p>
|
||
|
|
<p>The common statuses for an NWSD are:</p>
|
||
|
|
<ul><li>ACTIVE status of an NWSD is equivalent to a Linux server being up and running.</li>
|
||
|
|
<li>VARIED OFF status of an NWSD is equivalent to a Linux server
|
||
|
|
being shut down.</li>
|
||
|
|
<li>VARY ON PENDING status of an NWSD is equivalent to a Linux server
|
||
|
|
in the process of starting up.</li>
|
||
|
|
<li>SHUTDOWN status of an NWSD is equivalent to a Linux server having been shut down from
|
||
|
|
the Linux console.</li>
|
||
|
|

<div class="section"><h4 class="sectiontitle">WRKNWSD</h4><p>The WRKNWSD command displays a list of NWSDs.</p>
|
||
|
|
<ol><li>Type <kbd class="userinput">WRKNWSD</kbd> on the <span class="keyword">i5/OS</span> command
|
||
|
|
line. Press <span class="uicontrol">Enter</span>. You see a list of the Linux, Windows,
|
||
|
|
and AIX NWSDs.</li>
|
||
|
|
<li>Type <kbd class="userinput">2</kbd> next to the NWSD you want to edit (or 5
|
||
|
|
to view). Press <span class="uicontrol">Enter</span>.</li>
|
||
|
|
</ol>
|
||
|
|
<p>The following parameters are used:</p>
|
||
|
|
<ul><li>Network server description</li>
|
||
|
|
<li>Resource name</li>
|
||
|
|
<li>Vary on wait</li>
|
||
|
|
<li>Shutdown timeout</li>
|
||
|
|
<li>Code page</li>
|
||
|
|
<li>Server message queue and library</li>
|
||
|
|
<li>Configuration file and library</li>
|
||
|
|
<li>TCP/IP port configuration and sub parameters</li>
|
||
|
|
<li>Restrict device resources</li>
|
||
|
|
<li>Synchronize date and time</li>
|
||
|

<li>Text description</li>

<p>You can change the following parameters when the server is down:</p>
|
||
|
|
<ul><li>Resource name</li>
|

|
|
<li>Vary on wait</li>

||

<li>Server message queue and library</li>
|
||

|
||
|
|
<li>Synchronize date and time</li>

<p>You can change the following parameters when the server is up:</p>
|
||
|
|
<ul><li>TCP/IP port configuration and sub parameters. The change does not take
|
||
|
|
effect until you restart the server. </li>

||
|
|
