10059583c7 include/tcg/tcg-op.h: eradicate TARGET_INSN_START_EXTRA_WORDS
This commit removes TARGET_INSN_START_EXTRA_WORDS and force all arch to
call the same version of tcg_gen_insn_start, with additional 0 arguments
if needed. Since all arch have a single call site (in translate.c), this
is as good documentation as having a single define.

The notable exception is target/arm, which has two different translate
files for 32/64 bits. Since it's the only one, we accept to have two
call sites for this.

As well, we update parameter type to use uint64_t instead of
target_ulong, so it can be called from common code.

a63b90ca6c disas: Have disas_set_info() take a const CPUState
The CPUClass::disas_set_info() handler is meant to initialize
the %disassemble_info structure; it shoudn't alter the CPU state.
Enforce the CPUState can not be modified by having the handler
take a const pointer.

d8f0217284 target/alpha: Expand TCGv type for 64-bit target
The Alpha targets are only built as 64-bit:

  $ git grep TARGET_LONG_BITS configs/targets/alpha-*
  configs/targets/alpha-linux-user.mak:4:TARGET_LONG_BITS=64
  configs/targets/alpha-softmmu.mak:2:TARGET_LONG_BITS=64

Replace:

  TCGv -> TCGv_i64
  tcg_temp_new -> tcg_temp_new_i64

This is a mechanical replacement, adapting style to pass
the checkpatch.pl script.

c3ba74e21a target/alpha: Do not use target_ulong for page table entries / indexes
%L[123]pte are loaded calling ldq_le_phys() which returns
a uint64_t. %pt is loaded with @ptbr, declared as uint64_t
in target/alpha/cpu.h:

  236    uint64_t ptbr;

%index is at most 1024 so can fit in uint16_t.

f5d00b3b3a target/alpha: Replace target_ulong -> uint64_t in gdb_write_register()
On Alpha, the target_ulong type expands to uint64_t.
Besides, ldq_be_p() returns a uint64_t type, and all
field / values accessed are uint64_t, see target/alpha/cpu.h:

63004cd8c4 target/alpha: Build system units in common source set
Since commits bb5de52524 ("target: Widen pc/cs_base in
cpu_get_tb_cpu_state") and 32f0c394bb ("target: Use vaddr
in gen_intermediate_code") we remove all uses of the target_ulong
type in target/alpha/. Use the meson target_common_system_arch[]
source set to prevent further uses of target-specific types.

5d9e60294c target/alpha: Avoid target-specific migration headers in machine.c
machine.c doesn't use any target-specific macro defined by
the "migration/cpu.h" header. Use the minimum header required:
"migration/qemu-file-types.h" and "migration/vmstate.h", which
are not target-specific.

59ac89211b target/alpha: Replace legacy ld_phys() -> address_space_ld()
Prefer the address_space_ld/st API over the legacy ld_phys()
because it allow checking for bus access fault.

Since we removed the last legacy uses of the legacy ldst_phys()
API, set the TARGET_NOT_USING_LEGACY_LDST_PHYS_API variable to
hide the legacy API to alpha binaries, avoiding further API uses
to creep in.

3d57ddace1 target/alpha: call plugin trap callbacks
We recently introduced API for registering callbacks for trap related
events as well as the corresponding hook functions. Due to differences
between architectures, the latter need to be called from target specific
code.

This change places hooks for Alpha targets.

5940712ed0 target/alpha: Replace VMSTATE_UINTTL() -> VMSTATE_UINT64()
All these CPUAlphaState fields are of uint64_t type (except
the @fir[] array which uses float64, expanded to the same
type definition). Use the appropriate VMSTATE_UINT64() macro.

There is no functional change (the migration stream is not
modified), because the Alpha targets are only built as 64-bit:

a6a5f0b464 target/alpha: Access CPUState::cpu_index via helper
CPUState::cpu_index is a target agnostic field, meant
for common code (i.e. accel/ and system/ folders).

Target specific code should use the CPUClass::get_arch_id()
helper, even if there is a 1:1 mapping.

In preparation of generic changes around CPU indexing,
introduce the whoami helper to access the generic
CPUState::cpu_index field.

482869ca84 accel/tcg: Name gen_goto_tb()'s TB slot index as @tb_slot_idx
tcg_gen_goto_tb() takes an unsigned index to the TB slot (0 or 1).
Declare the argument as unsigned and rename it as @tb_slot_idx
(which is more descriptive than @n) on all targets.

directly to palcode entry points.  If we load palbr
from env instead of encoding the constant, we avoid

87511341c3 add cpu_test_interrupt()/cpu_set_interrupt() helpers and use them tree wide
The helpers form load-acquire/store-release pair and ensure
that appropriate barriers are in place in case checks happen
outside of BQL.

Use them to replace open-coded checkers/setters across the code,
to make sure that barriers are not missed.  Helpers also make code a
bit more readable.

4759aae432 accel/tcg: Return TCGTBCPUState from cpu_get_tb_cpu_state
Combine 3 different pointer returns into one structure return.

Include a cflags field in TCGTBCPUState, not filled in by
cpu_get_tb_cpu_state, but used by all callers.  This fills
a hole in the structure and is useful in some subroutines.

page-vary-target.c.  Rename the target/arm TARGET_PAGE_BITS_MIN
to TARGET_PAGE_BITS_LEGACY to emphasize what it really means.
Move the assertions related to minimum page size as well.

28f13bccbe fpu: allow flushing of output denormals to be after rounding
Currently we handle flushing of output denormals in uncanon_normal
always before we deal with rounding.  This works for architectures
that detect tininess before rounding, but is usually not the right
place when the architecture detects tininess after rounding.  For
example, for x86 the SDM states that the MXCSR FTZ control bit causes
outputs to be flushed to zero "when it detects a floating-point
underflow condition".  This means that we mustn't flush to zero if
the input is such that after rounding it is no longer tiny.

At least one of our guest architectures does underflow detection
after rounding but flushing of denormals before rounding (MIPS MSA);
this means we need to have a config knob for this that is separate
from our existing tininess_before_rounding setting.

Add an ftz_detection flag.  For consistency with
tininess_before_rounding, we make it default to "detect ftz after
rounding"; this means that we need to explicitly set the flag to
"detect ftz before rounding" on every existing architecture that sets
flush_to_zero, so that this commit has no behaviour change.
(This means more code change here but for the long term a less
confusing API.)

For several architectures the current behaviour is either
definitely or possibly wrong; annotate those with TODO comments.
These architectures are definitely wrong (and should detect
ftz after rounding):
 * x86
 * Alpha

For these architectures the spec is unclear:
 * MIPS (for non-MSA)
 * RX
 * SH4

PA-RISC makes ftz detection IMPDEF, but we aren't setting the
"tininess before rounding" setting that we ought to.

f0c29a0234 target/alpha: Don't corrupt error_code with unknown softfloat flags
In do_cvttq() we set env->error_code with what is supposed to be a
set of FPCR exception bit values.  However, if the set of float
exception flags we get back from softfloat for the conversion
includes a flag which is not one of the three we expect here
(invalid_cvti, invalid, inexact) then we will fall through the
if-ladder and set env->error_code to the unconverted softfloat
exception_flag value.  This will then cause us to take a spurious
exception.

This is harmless now, but when we add new floating point exception
flags to softfloat it will cause problems.  Add an else clause to the
if-ladder to make it ignore any float exception flags it doesn't care
about.

Specifically, without this fix, 'make check-tcg' will fail for Alpha
when the commit adding float_flag_input_denormal_used lands.
