<h5 id="rzau6setup">Set up your PSF configuration object</h5>
<p>Before you set up your Print Services Facility&trade; (PSF) configuration
object, you need to decide what you want done with the output file after it
is created. It can be stored in a directory as PDF, placed on an output queue
as Advanced Function Presentation&trade; (AFP&trade;) or PDF, or e-mailed
as a PDF attachment.</p>

<div class="notebody"> You must have system configuration authority (*IOSYSCFG)
to create a PSF configuration object.</div>
<p>To create or change a PSF configuration object, follow these steps:</p>
<ol type="1">
<li>In iSeries&trade; Navigator, expand <span class="bold">My Connections</span> (or your
active environment).</li>
<li>Expand <span class="bold">AFP Manager</span>.
<p>If you do not have an AFP Manager
icon, install AFP Manager as follows: Right-click <span class="bold">My Connections</span> (or your active environment) and select <span class="bold">Install Options</span> then <span class="bold">Selective Setup</span>.</p></li>
<li>Create a new PSF configuration object or change one that already exists.
<ul>
<li>To create a PSF configuration object, right-click the <span class="bold">PSF configuration objects</span> folder and select <span class="bold">New</span>.</li>
<li>To change a PSF configuration object, expand the <span class="bold">PSF
configuration objects</span> folder, right-click the PSF configuration object
you want to change, and select <span class="bold">Configure</span>.</li></ul></li>
<li>If you are creating a PSF configuration object, on the <span class="bold">General</span> page, specify a name.</li>
<li>On the <span class="bold">PDF Destinations</span> page, specify what you want
done with the generated PDF files:
<ul>
<li>Select <span class="bold">Generate PDF</span>.</li>
<li>If you want the PDF files spooled to an output queue, select <span class="bold">Store as printer output</span>. You must also specify the library-qualified
output queue. Click <span class="bold">Browse</span> to search for an output queue.</li>
<li>If you want the PDF files stored as a stream file in the integrated file
system, select <span class="bold">Store as stream file</span>. You must also specify
the stream file directory where you want the PDF file stored.</li>
<li>If you want the PDF files sent as e-mail, select <span class="bold">Send
as electronic mail</span>.</li>
<li>For <span class="bold">Administrator address</span>, specify the e-mail address
of the PDF administrator. Any PDF files that are not distributed correctly
are attached (if possible) to an e-mail that is sent to this address. Your iSeries must be set up to send e-mail to use this option. If the specified address
is on an iSeries, that iSeries must be set up to receive e-mail. For instructions

topic.</li></ul></li>
<li>If you selected <span class="bold">Send as electronic mail</span> or specified
an <span class="bold">Administrator address</span>, specify the mail sender and,
optionally, the mail server to use:
<ul>
<li>Specify the e-mail sender or click the arrow to select from a list. The
e-mail sender must be enrolled in the system distribution directory.
<p>Use
the Display Directory Entries (DSPDIRE) command to view the entry in the system
distribution directory. If you have security administrator authority, you
can change the Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) information with the Work
with Directory Entries (WRKDIRE) command.</p></li>
<li>If you want to specify the mail server to use, select <span class="bold">Advanced</span>. If you do not specify a mail server, the Send Distribution
(SNDDST) command is used. Many of the options available through the mapping
program require you to use an SMTP server.</li></ul></li>
<li> On the <span class="bold">PDF Processing</span> page, specify any of these
options to customize the PDF that is generated:
<ul>
<li>If you want the fonts to be included in the output file, select <span class="bold">Include PDF fonts inline</span>. This ensures fidelity when you print or view
the file, but increases file size. This function only works with IP40240 or
IP40300 device emulation.</li>
<li>If you want PSF to use the named groups defined in the input file, select <span class="bold">Generate multiple PDF files</span>.
<ul>
<li>If you want the file split at named group boundaries, select <span class="bold">Create separate PDF files</span>.</li>
<li>If you want one output file created with index tags at named group boundaries,
select <span class="bold">Create single PDF file with index tags</span>.</li></ul></li>
<li>In the <span class="bold">Device emulation type</span> field, specify the
device that AFP should emulate.</li>
<li>Specify the paper size in printer drawers one and two of the device specified
for <span class="bold">Device emulation type</span>.</li>
<li>Specify the library-qualified data queue where the PDF transform status
messages should be posted. Click <span class="bold">Browse</span> to search for
a library.</li>
<li>If applicable, specify the library-qualified <span class="bold">Mapping
program</span>. Click <span class="bold">Browse</span> to search for a library.
If you want to use a mapping object, select *IBMPGM.</li>
<li>If applicable, specify the library-qualified <span class="bold">Mapping
object</span>. Click <span class="bold">Browse</span> to search for the mapping
object.</li></ul></li>
<li>Click <span class="bold">OK</span>.</li></ol>
<p>For help with any field, select the field and press <span class="bold">F1</span>.</p>
