<div><p>In addition to managing IBM<sup>®</sup> products, you can create and manage
|
|
your own products.</p>
|
|
<p><img src="./delta.gif" alt="Start of change" /><span class="keyword">iSeries™ Navigator</span> provides
|
|
a function called <dfn class="term">Management Central</dfn> that helps you do that.
|
|
Management Central provides many tools that you can use to manage IBM and non-IBM
|
|
installed software products. Use Management Central to package and send software
|
|
products, generate fixes, generate online software agreements, and generate
|
|
license keys.<img src="./deltaend.gif" alt="End of change" /></p>
|
|
<p><span class="keyword">iSeries Navigator</span> gives you the
|
|
resources to use Management Central to create your own products and install
|
|
them throughout your network. For your own products, you can create, distribute,
|
|
and install your fixes across your network. You can also use the security
|
|
capabilities of object signing and signature verification to protect and verify
|
|
the integrity of a variety of <span class="keyword">i5/OS™</span> objects
|
|
when you distribute packages for other systems to use.</p>

Packaging and distributing your products makes your applications into a product that is installed and maintained in the same manner as the IBM licensed programs.</li>

Use <span class="keyword">iSeries Navigator</span> to

generate fixes for the packaged products that you have defined and installed

software product, you generate a software agreement and then associate it

with your packaged product. To do this, you use either Management Central

or software product APIs. Users then accept the software agreement to continue
|
|
