<div><p>You can use double-byte character data anywhere in a CL command

|
that descriptive text can be used.</p>
|

<div class="section"><p>Enter double-byte character text as follows:</p>

<ol><li>Begin the double-byte character text with an apostrophe (').</li>
|
|
<li>Enter a shift-out character.</li>
|
|
<li>Enter the double-byte character text.</li>
|
|
<li>Enter a shift-in character.</li>
|
|
<li>End the double-byte character text with an apostrophe (').</li>
|
|
</ol>
|
|
<p>For example, to enter the double-byte character literal ABC, enter
|
|
the following, where <img src="rbam6517.gif" alt="Shift-out character" /> represents the shift-out character and <img src="rbam6518.gif" alt="Shift-out character" /> represents the shift-in character:</p>

<p>Limit the length
|
|
of a double-byte character text description of an object to 14 double-byte
|
|
characters, plus the shift control characters, to make sure that the description
|
|
is properly displayed and printed.</p>
