<div><p>Read to learn how to unlink and delete network server descriptions
|
|
(NWSD) from your logical partition.</p>
|
|
<div class="p">Before you delete a NWSD, you are required to unlink storage spaces
|
|
that are associated with that NWSD. Then you can delete the NWSD. See <a href="rzalmunlink.htm">Unlink disk drives from a logical partition</a> for more information on how to
|
|
unlink NWSDs.</div>
|
|
<div class="section">To unlink the storage space for the server drive for NWSDs complete
|
|
the following steps:</div>
|
|
<ol><li><span>On the i5/OS<sup>®</sup> command line, type <kbd class="userinput">RMVNWSSTGL NWSSTG(nwsdname1)
|
|
NWSD(nwsdname)</kbd>. </span></li>
|
|
<li><span>Press <span class="uicontrol">Enter</span>.</span></li>
|
|

<div><div class="section">To unlink the storage space for the install source drive complete

|
the following steps:</div>
|
|
<ol><li><span>On the i5/OS command line, type <kbd class="userinput">RMVNWSSTGL NWSSTG(nwsdname2)
|
|
NWSD(nwsdname)</kbd> and press <span class="uicontrol">Enter</span>.</span></li>
|
|
<li><span>Any user defined storage spaces that have been linked to the NWSD
|
|
can also be removed at this time using the following command as often as needed </span><ol type="a"><li><span>On the i5/OS command line, type <kbd class="userinput">RMVNWSSTGL NWSSTG(nwsstgname)
|
|
NWSD(nwsdname)</kbd>.</span></li>

<li><span>Press <span class="uicontrol">Enter</span>.</span></li>

<div><div class="section">To delete the network server description (NWSD) for a logical partition
|
|
complete the following steps:</div>
|
|
<ol><li class="stepexpand"><span>On the i5/OS command line, type <kbd class="userinput">WRKNWSD</kbd> and
|
|
press <span class="uicontrol">Enter</span>.</span></li>
|
|
<li class="stepexpand"><span>Type <span class="uicontrol">8</span> in the Opt field to the left of the
|
|
Network Server and press <span class="uicontrol">Enter</span>. </span> The
|
|
Work with Configuration Status display appears.</li>
|
|
<li class="stepexpand"><span>If the status of the NWSD is not varied off, type <span class="uicontrol">2</span> in
|
|
the Opt field to the left of the Network Server and press <span class="uicontrol">Enter</span>.
|
|
Otherwise, continue to the next step.</span></li>
|
|
<li class="stepexpand"><span>Press <span class="uicontrol">F3</span> to return to the previous screen.</span></li>
|
|
<li class="stepexpand"><span>Type <span class="uicontrol">4</span> in the Opt field to the left of the
|
|
Network Server and press <span class="uicontrol">Enter</span>.</span></li>

<li class="stepexpand"><span>Press <span class="uicontrol">Enter</span> in the Confirm Delete of Network
|
|
Server Descriptions display.</span></li>
