<div><p>Use this topic to bypass the system password.</p>
|
|
<div class="section"><p>Use the Verification of System Password Failed display to bypass
|
|
the system password when:</p>
|
|
<ul><li>You do not know or cannot find the system password.</li>
|
|
<li>You guess the system password and get a message stating that the password
|
|
you entered is incorrect.<div class="note"><span class="notetitle">Note:</span> If you type the password incorrectly five
|
|
times, you must do the IPL again.</div>
|
|
</li>
|
|

|
<p>To bypass the system password during the first initial program load
|
|
(IPL), follow these steps:</p>
|
|
</div>
|
|
<ol><li><span>Select option 2 (Bypass the system password) on the Verification
|
|
of System Password Failed display.</span></li>
|
|
<li><span>Read the information about the Bypass the System Password display.
|
|
Remember to contact your marketing representative immediately to obtain the
|
|
system password before the bypass period runs out.</span></li>
|
|
<li><span>Press F9 (Bypass) to continue the IPL.</span></li>
|
|
</ol>
|
|
<div class="section"><p>When the IPL has finished, you will receive hourly messages that
|
|
tell how much time is left in the bypass period.</p>
|
|
<p>When you receive the
|
|
password, you can enter it by doing one of the following steps:</p>
|
|
<ul><li>Perform an attended IPL and select option 1 (Change the system password)
|
|
on the Verification of System Password Failed display.</li>
|
|
<li>Perform an attended IPL and select option 1 (Change the system password)
|
|
on the Bypass Period has Ended display.</li>
|
|
