<div><p><span>Use the Trace TCP Application (TRCTCPAPP) command
to trace data that pertains to specific TCP/IP applications servers.</span></p>
<p>This function is typically used at the request of your
service provider. For troubleshooting information related to some of these
specific application servers, see <a href="rzakuspecapplic.htm#specapplic">Troubleshooting
problems related to specific applications</a>.</p>

<li>Directory Services server</li>
<li>Distributed data management (DDM with DRDA<sup>®</sup>) running over TCP/IP</li>
<li>File Transfer Protocol (FTP)</li>
<li>Host servers <ul><li>Central server</li>
<li>Database server</li>
<li>Data queue server</li>
<li>Network print server</li>
<li>Remote command server</li>
<li>Server mapper</li>
<li>Signon server</li>
</ul>
</li>
<li>HTTP server (Apache)</li>
<li>Layer Two Tunneling Protocol (L2TP)</li>
<li>Packet rules </li>
<li>Point-to-Point Protocol (PPP)</li>
<li>Quality of Service (QoS)</li>
<li>Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) client and server</li>
<li>Simple Network Time Protocol (SNTP) client and server</li>
<li>Telnet</li>
<li>Virtual private network (VPN) server</li>
<li>Virtual terminal APIs</li>

<p>To use the CL commands to perform this type of trace, you must have *SERVICE
special authority, or be authorized to the service trace function of i5/OS™ through iSeries™ Navigator.
