<h1 class="topictitle1">Configure FTP servers for graphical FTP clients and Web tools</h1>
<div><p>You can configure an File Transfer Protocol (FTP) server on the iSeries™ to
support graphical FTP clients, Web browsers, and other Web tools.</p>
<div class="section"><p>Most graphical FTP clients use UNIX<sup>®</sup> as their list format and path file
as their file name format. Follow these instructions to set the FTP server
properties to use the supported formats:</p>

<ol><li class="stepexpand"><span>In the iSeries Navigator, expand <span class="menucascade"><span class="uicontrol">your
iSeries server</span> &gt; <span class="uicontrol">Network</span> &gt; <span class="uicontrol">Servers</span> &gt; <span class="uicontrol">TCP/IP</span></span>.</span></li>
<li class="stepexpand"><span>In the right pane, right-click <span class="uicontrol">FTP</span> and select <span class="uicontrol">Properties</span>.</span></li>
<li class="stepexpand"><span>On the <span class="uicontrol">Properties</span> page, click the <span class="uicontrol">Initial
Formats</span> tab.</span> <ul><li>Enable <span class="uicontrol">Path</span> as the File Naming Format.</li>
<li>Enable <span class="uicontrol">UNIX list format</span> as the File List Format.</li>
</ul>
<div class="note"><span class="notetitle">Note:</span> You can control the LISTFMT and NAMEFMT settings for specific FTP
sessions using an exit program for the TCPL0200 format or TCPL0300 format
of the FTP Server Logon Exit Point.</div>

<div class="section"><p>You can also change the list format <em>after</em> an FTP session
is in progress with options for the FTP server SITE (Send Information Used
by a Server System) subcommand. These settings control the results returned
by the LIST (File List) and NLST (Name List) FTP server subcommands.</p>
