<p>In Java<sup>tm</sup> 2 SDK (J2SDK), Standard Edition, version
1.2, the <tt>rmid</tt> tool starts the activation system daemon, so
objects can be registered and activated in a Java virtual machine.
It is compatible with the <tt>rmid</tt> tool that is supplied by
Sun Microsystems, Inc.</p>
<p>The <tt>rmid</tt> tool is available using the Qshell
Interpreter.</p>
