This topic discusses installation of the xSeries® Adapter.

If the RSA I or RSA II adapter is required for your xSeries server then it should be installed,
and the firmware upgraded prior to installing the Integrated xSeries Adapter.

After the BIOS and firmware for the xSeries and the RSA adapter have been
updated, you can install the Integrated xSeries Adapter into the xSeries Server.
This requires that the xSeries be disconnected from the AC power.

Prior to installing the Integrated xSeries Adapter, a jumper needs to be
set in many xSeries models
to provide 3.3 volt standby power to the slot where the card is located. The
jumper number is different for the various models, so verify the correct jumper
settings in the iSeries™ PCI
Card and Integrated xSeries Adapter Card or Integrated xSeries Adapter
(IXA) installation manual.
