<div><div class="section"><p>After you have completed the printer configuration for the network,
|
|
you should test all connections in the network.</p>
|
|
<p>To test all your connections
|
|
in your network, complete the following steps: </p>
|
|

<ol><li class="stepexpand"><span>From a command line, type <kbd class="userinput">ping xx.xx.xx.xx</kbd> where <em>xx.xx.xx.xx</em> is
|
|
the IP address of each of the workstations and the printer.</span></li>

<li class="stepexpand"><span>From a command prompt on each of the workstations, type <kbd class="userinput">ping
|
|
xx.xx.xx.xx</kbd> where <em>xx.xx.xx.xx </em>is the IP address of the iSeries™ server
|
|
and the printer.</span> <div class="tip"><span class="tiptitle">Tip:</span> You must configure
|
|
the new printer on each workstation and add the printer IP address to each
|
|
host table.</div>
|
|

<li class="stepexpand"><strong>Optional: </strong><span>Print a test page using the following instructions:</span><ol type="a"><li><span>From iSeries Navigator, select <span class="menucascade"><span class="uicontrol">Basic operations</span> > <span class="uicontrol">Printer Output</span></span>.</span></li>

<li><span>Right-click an output name in the right pane, and select <span class="uicontrol">Open</span> to
|
|
view the output.</span></li>
|
|
<li><span>From the Viewer, select <span class="menucascade"><span class="uicontrol">File</span> > <span class="uicontrol">Print</span></span>. </span></li>
|
|
<li><span>Select your print options and click <span class="uicontrol">Print</span>.
|
|
This page should be sent to the printer.</span></li>
