<h1 class="topictitle1">Checklist 12: Upgrade load source disk unit with local mirroring</h1>
<div><p>This checklist shows the sequence of tasks to upgrade your load source
disk unit (unit 1) with a disk unit that has at least a 17-GB capacity while
keeping mirrored protection active. The units that are replaced in this procedure
are discarded.</p>
<p>Print a copy of this checklist. Check off the configuration tasks as you
perform them. This checklist provides an important record of your actions.
It may help you diagnose any problems that occur.</p>
<div class="section"><h4 class="sectiontitle">Before you begin</h4><p>Evaluate your <a href="rzalygraphview.htm">disk
configuration</a> and record your answers. The information entered in the
Before you begin table is needed to answer the questions in the Load source
planning section. </p>

<li>Type 1 next to one of the disk units that you installed in task 3.</li>
<li>Determine the location of the replacement load source unit <ol type="a"><li>Open the iSeries Navigator
Service Tools Window.</li>
<li>Right-click All Disk Units and choose Graphical View.</li>
<li>Find the disk unit with the serial number listed above, and note the location
of that unit.</li>
</ol>

<li>Write down the serial number of the replacement unit that is going replace
the load source.<p>|_________|</p>

and is needed for task 9.</div>

<li>On the <span class="uicontrol">Confirm Copy Disk Unit Data</span> display, press
Enter.</li>
<li>The status display shows how the operation is proceeding. When the function
is complete, return to the Use Dedicated Service Tools (DST) menu.</li>
