<div><p>You can select to clear all data from a nonconfigured disk unit and write
|
|
the sectors, which prepares the disk unit for use in an iSeries™ server.
|
|
Depending on disk unit capacity and performance, formatting a disk unit can
|
|
take from several minutes to over an hour to complete, potentially affecting
|
|
system performance.</p>
|
|
<div class="p">To format a disk unit, follow these steps:<ol><li>In iSeries Navigator,
|
|
expand <strong>Disk Units</strong>.</li>
|
|
<li>Right-click the disk unit you want to format and select <strong>Format</strong>.</li>
|
|
<li>Follow the instructions on the resulting dialog.</li>
|
|
