<div><div class="section"><div class="p">To create an <a href="rzalveservereimid.htm#rzalveservereimid">EIM

identifier</a>, you must be connected to the Enterprise Identity Mapping
|
|
(EIM) domain in which you want to work and you must have <a href="rzalveservereimauths.htm#rzalveservereimauths">EIM access control</a> at
|
|
one of these levels: <ul><li>Identifier administrator.</li>
|
|
<li>EIM administrator.</li>
|
|
</ul>
|
|

<p>To create an EIM identifier for a person or entity in your enterprise,
|
|
complete these steps:</p>
|
|
</div>
|
|
<ol><li class="stepexpand"><span>Expand <span class="uicontrol">Network > Enterprise Identity Mapping > Domain
|
|
Management</span>. </span></li>
|
|
<li class="stepexpand"><span>Select the EIM domain in which you want to work. </span> <ul><li>If the EIM domain you want to work with is not listed under <span class="uicontrol">Domain
|
|
Management</span>, see <a href="rzalvadmindomainadd.htm#rzalvadmindomainadd">Add an EIM domain to the Domain Management folder</a>.</li>
|
|
<li>If you are not currently connected to the EIM domain in which you want
|
|
to work, see <a href="rzalvadmindomaincon.htm#rzalvadmindomaincon"> Connect
|
|
to the EIM domain controller</a>. </li>
|
|
</ul>
|
|

|
|
<li class="stepexpand"><span>Expand the EIM domain to which you are connected.</span></li>
|
|
<li class="stepexpand"><span>Right-click <strong>Identifiers</strong>, and select <strong>New identifier...</strong>.</span></li>
|
|
<li class="stepexpand"><span>In the <span class="uicontrol">New EIM Identifier</span> dialog, provide
|
|
information about the EIM identifier, as follows: </span><ol type="a"><li><span>A name for the identifier.</span></li>
|
|
<li><span>Whether to have the system generate a unique name, if necessary.</span></li>
|
|
<li><span>A description of the identifier.</span></li>
|
|
<li><span>One or more aliases for the identifier, if necessary.</span></li>
|
|
</ol>
|
|
</li>
|
|
<li class="stepexpand"><span>Click <span class="uicontrol">Help</span>, if necessary, to determine what
|
|
information to specify for each field.</span></li>
|

<li class="stepexpand"><span>After you enter the required information, click <span class="uicontrol">OK</span> to
|
|
create the EIM identifier.</span></li>

<div class="section"><div class="note"><span class="notetitle">Note:</span> If you create a large number of EIM identifiers, it sometimes
|
|
takes a long time before the list of identifiers displays when you expand
|
|
the <span class="uicontrol">Identifiers</span> folder. To improve performance when
|
|
you have a large number of EIM identifiers, you can <a href="rzalvadmincustomview.htm">Customize the EIM identifiers view</a>.</div>
