the naming convention that is used when the system automatically creates device
descriptions. These names are used when creating device descriptions for local
controllers or devices that are added to your system.</p>
<p>The following
are possible options:</p>
<ul><li><span class="uicontrol">Use i5/OS naming (*NORMAL)</span> <p>Use naming conventions
according to i5/OS standards.</p>
</li>
<li><span class="uicontrol">Use System/36 naming (*S36)</span> <p>Use naming conventions
according to System/36™ standards.</p>
</li>
<li><span class="uicontrol">Use device address (*DEVADR)</span> <p>Derive the device
name from the device address.</p>
