<div><p>You need to verify the status of your IPv4 and IPv6 connections.</p>
<div class="p">For both IPv4 and IPv6 connections, you should verify the following information: <ul><li>You should have at least one passive listening connection for each of
the servers you need to use. A passive listening connection indicates that
the connection is ready for work. Passive listening connections are indicated
by an asterisk in the Remote Address and Remote Port columns. See the server
table for a list of all the servers and their associated jobs and subsystems.</li>
<li>The passive listening connections should not be ended. If they have been
ended, then remote systems are unable to use the servers represented by the
connections.</li>

<div class="section"><h4 class="sectiontitle">IPv4 connection status</h4><p>To display information about
the status of your IPv4 connections, follow these steps:</p>
<ol><li>In iSeries™ Navigator,
expand your <span class="menucascade"><span class="uicontrol">iSeries server</span> &gt; <span class="uicontrol">Network</span> &gt; <span class="uicontrol"> TCP/IP Configuration</span> &gt; <span class="uicontrol"> IPv4</span></span> .</li>
<li>Select <span class="uicontrol">Connections</span>.</li>
<li>If you need to end and restart the passive listening connection, then
you should do it by ending and restarting the server. To end and restart a
server, follow these steps:<ol type="a"><li>In iSeries Navigator,
expand your <span class="menucascade"><span class="uicontrol">iSeries server</span> &gt; <span class="uicontrol"> Network</span> &gt; <span class="uicontrol"> Servers</span></span>.</li>
<li>Select <span class="uicontrol">TCP/IP</span> for TCP/IP servers or select <span class="uicontrol">iSeries
Access</span> for host servers, right-click the server you want to end
and restart, and select <span class="uicontrol">End</span>.</li>
<li>Right-click the server you want to restart, and select <span class="uicontrol">Start</span>.</li>

the status of your IPv6 connections, follow these steps:</p>
<ol><li>In iSeries Navigator,
expand your <span class="menucascade"><span class="uicontrol">iSeries server</span> &gt; <span class="uicontrol"> Network</span> &gt; <span class="uicontrol">TCP/IP Configuration</span> &gt; <span class="uicontrol">IPv6</span></span> .</li>
<li>Select <span class="uicontrol">Connections</span>.</li>
<li>If you need to end and restart the passive listening connection, then
you should do it by ending and restarting the server. To end and restart a
server, follow these steps:<ol type="a"><li>In iSeries Navigator,
expand your <span class="menucascade"><span class="uicontrol">iSeries server</span> &gt; <span class="uicontrol">Network</span> &gt; <span class="uicontrol"> Servers</span></span> .</li>
<li>Select <span class="uicontrol">TCP/IP</span>, right-click the server you want
to end and restart, and select <span class="uicontrol">End</span>.</li>
<li>Right-click the server you want to restart, and select <span class="uicontrol">Start</span>.
IBM provides a limited number of TCP/IP applications that support IPv6.</li>
