<div><p>The predictive storage governor specifies a temporary storage limit
for database queries. You can use the query governor to test if a query uses
any temporary object to run the query, such as a hash table, sort or temporary
index.</p>
<div class="section"><p>To test for a temporary object's usage, do the following: </p>
<ul><li>Set the query storage limit to zero ( QRYSTGLMT(0) ) using the <span class="cmdname">Change
Query Attributes (CHGQRYA)</span> command or in the INI file. This forces
an inquiry message from the governor anytime a temporary object will be used
for the query, regardless of the temporary object's estimated size.</li>
<li>Prompt for message help on the inquiry message and find the same information
that you can find by running the <span class="cmdname">Print SQL Information (PRTSQLINF)</span> command.
This allows you to see what temporary object(s) was involved. </li>
