<div><div class="section">To create a new archive policy for older data, Sharon Jones completed
these steps: </div>
<ol><li><span>In iSeries™ Navigator,
expand My Connections (or your active environment). </span></li>
<li><span>Expand <span class="menucascade"><span class="uicontrol">JKLPROD</span> &gt; <span class="uicontrol">Backup,
Recovery and Media Services</span></span>.</span></li>
<li><span>Right-click <span class="uicontrol">Archive Policies</span> and select <span class="uicontrol">New
Policy</span>. </span></li>
<li><span>On the <span class="uicontrol">Welcome</span> page, click <span class="uicontrol">Next</span>.</span></li>
<li><span>On the <span class="uicontrol">New Archive Policy--Policy Name</span> page,
type <kbd class="userinput">OLDACCTS</kbd>. In the <span class="uicontrol">Description</span> field,
enter <kbd class="userinput">Archive policy for accounts older than 2 years</kbd>.
Click <span class="uicontrol">Next</span>.</span></li>
<li><span>On the <span class="uicontrol">New Archive Policy--Select Items for Save</span> page,
navigate to the Accounts library and select the folder called "Accounts".
Click <span class="uicontrol"> Next</span>.</span></li>
<li><span>On the <span class="uicontrol">New Archive Policy--Create Directory List</span> page,
type <kbd class="userinput">Directory list for oldaccts archive policy</kbd> to
the <span class="uicontrol">Description</span> field. Click <span class="uicontrol"> Next</span>.</span></li>
<li><span>On the <span class="uicontrol">New Archive Policy--Save Order</span> page,
click <span class="uicontrol">Next</span>.</span></li>
<li><span>On the <span class="uicontrol">New Archive Policy--Disk Pool Threshold</span> page,
select <span class="uicontrol">No minimum</span> and click<span class="uicontrol">Next</span>.</span></li>
<li><span>On the <span class="uicontrol">New Archive Policy--Frequency Used Threshold</span> page,
select <span class="uicontrol">No maximum</span> and click<span class="uicontrol">Next</span>.</span></li>
<li><span>On the <span class="uicontrol">New Archive Policy--Inactivity Threshold</span> page,
enter <span class="uicontrol">730</span> in the <span class="uicontrol">Number of Days Inactive</span> field
and select <span class="uicontrol">Since last used or changed</span> for the <span class="uicontrol">Inactivity
type</span>. Click <span class="uicontrol">Next</span>.</span></li>
<li><span>On the <span class="uicontrol">New Archive Policy--Object Size Threshold</span> page,
enter <span class="uicontrol">50</span> in the<span class="uicontrol">Save objects with a size
greater than</span> field. Click <span class="uicontrol">Next</span>.</span></li>
<li><span>On the <span class="uicontrol">New Archive Policy--Storage Freed Objects</span> page,
select <span class="uicontrol">Save object regardless of whether they can be storage freed</span> and
deselect <strong>Enable dynamic retrieval of storage freed objects</strong>. Click <span class="uicontrol"> Next</span>.</span></li>
<li><span>On the <span class="uicontrol">New Archive Policy--Retrieved Object Retention</span> page,
specify <span class="uicontrol">Indefinitely or until archived by subsequent archive operation</span>.
Click <span class="uicontrol">Next</span>.</span></li>
<li><span>On the <span class="uicontrol">New Archive Policy--Where to Media</span> page,
select <span class="uicontrol">Save to media</span>. Click <span class="uicontrol">Next</span>.</span></li>
<li><span>On the <span class="uicontrol">New Archive Policy--Media Retention</span> page,
enter <span class="uicontrol">730</span> for the number of days to keep the data.
Click <span class="uicontrol">Next</span>.</span></li>
<li><span>On the <span class="uicontrol">New Archive Policy--Select Devices</span> page,
select <span class="uicontrol"><var class="varname">Qic1000</var></span> in the <span class="uicontrol">Media
Pool</span> field. This is the media pool that you selected in when you
prepared your media. Click <span class="uicontrol">Next</span>.</span></li>
<li><span>On the <span class="uicontrol">New Archive Policy--Duplicate Media</span> page,
select <span class="uicontrol">No, do not mark the media for duplication</span>. Click <span class="uicontrol"> Next</span>.</span></li>
<li><span>On the <span class="uicontrol">New Archive Policy--Add Media</span> page,
click <span class="uicontrol">Next</span>. This was completed in Step 2: Add media.</span></li>
<li><span>On the <span class="uicontrol">New Archive Policy--Summary</span> page,
validate the properties of the new archive policy and click <span class="uicontrol">Finish</span>. </span></li>
