<h2 id="sessionprops">View iSeries NetServer session properties</h2>
<p>You can view the attributes for an active iSeries NetServer&trade; session within iSeries Navigator.
This allows you to see the properties of clients that use iSeries shared resources.
You cannot change or reconfigure these properties because they are records
of client activity that contain information only.</p>
<p>To display the properties for an iSeries NetServer session, follow these steps:</p>
<ol type="1">
<li>Open iSeries Navigator and connect to the system you want to work with.</li>
<li>Expand <span class="bold">Network</span>.</li>
<li>Expand <span class="bold">Servers</span>.</li>
<li>Click <span class="bold">TCP/IP</span> to retrieve a list of the TCP/IP servers
available.</li>
<li>Right-click <span class="bold">iSeries NetServer</span> and select <span class="bold">Open</span>.</li>
<li>Expand <span class="bold">Sessions</span>.</li>
<li>Right-click a user session and select <span class="bold">Properties</span>.</li></ol>
<p>iSeries NetServer supports multiple users, including guests, logged on
from the same workstation. Information for each session displays the actual
user name even if the guest account was used for authentication. As a result,
you can see duplicate sessions with the same workstation and user name. Information
will be displayed for the following fields:</p>
<ul>
<li>Number of connections</li>
<li>Number of files open</li>
<li>Number of sessions</li></ul>
<a name="wq68"></a>
<div class="notelisttitle" id="wq68">Notes:</div>
<ol type="1">
<li>If multiple sessions have been established, they can end when the iSeries NetServer idle
time-out value has expired. This occurs regardless of whether or not there
are open files for that session.</li>
<li>Multiple users could be active from the same workstation. In
V5R2, ending a user session ends only the iSeries NetServer file and print activity for
that session. However, when the client workstation detects the loss of connectivity
for one of the sessions, the client workstation may decide to end them all
and optionally establish new sessions.</li>
</ol>
