<h2>Intermediate-level APIs</h2>
<p>The intermediate-level APIs are similar to the top-level APIs, but the user
applications select the transport-specific information by using network
selection APIs. These APIs allow more customization and greater control over
the transport that is used.</p>

<li><A HREF="clnt_tp_create.htm">clnt_tp_create()</A> (Create a client handle) creates a client handle for the program prognum, the version versnum, and for the transport specified by netconf.</li>
<li><A HREF="svc_tp_create.htm">svc_tp_create()</A> (Create a server handle) creates a server handle for the network specified by netconf, and registers itself with the RPC service package (RPCBind).</li>
