<div><p>This topic provides information to collect the library data that
|
|
a service technician needs to repair your tape library.</p>
|
|
<p>When problem analysis or problem isolation is required, collect and send
|
|
the following information to the appropriate service support personnel:</p>
|
|
<ul><li>The <a href="#rzam4collectlibinfo__flight">Tape flight recorder</a> information.</li>
|
|
<li>If you are using BRMS, collect the <a href="#rzam4collectlibinfo__brms">BRMS flight recorder</a> information.</li>
|
|
<li>If you are using a 3494 tape library, collect the <a href="#rzam4collectlibinfo__library">Library manager transaction logs</a>.</li>

<p>Substitute the name of your tape library for TAPMLB<var class="varname">xx</var>.</p>
|
|
</div>

(DMPBRM) command to collect the BRMS flight recorder information.</p>

the transaction logs, the time and date of the failure, and information about
|
|
the volumes in question:</p>

<ul><li>Insert a blank diskette in drive A of the personal computer.</li>
|
|
<li>Select <samp class="codeph">Service.</samp></li>
|
|
<li>Select <samp class="codeph">Copy files.</samp></li>
|
|
<li>Select the transaction logs to be copied.</li>
|
|
<li>Select <samp class="codeph">OK.</samp></li>
|
|
<li>Select drive A. Type the file name and description of the problem.</li>
|

<li>Select <samp class="codeph">Copy files.</samp></li>
|
