<div><div class="p">This checklist shows the sequence of tasks that you use to configure disks
on a new iSeries™ server.
Whether you need to perform all the tasks depends on the disk protection that
you want on your system. <a href="rzalydpconcepts.htm">Disk protection</a> provides
more information about the disk protection that is available. <div class="attention"><span class="attentiontitle">Attention:</span> When
you perform the tasks in this checklist, the system moves large amounts of
data. Make sure that you have completely <a href="../rzaiu/rzaiuintro.htm">saved your system</a> in the
event that you need to recover from an error situation.</div>

Check off the configuration tasks as you perform them. This checklist provides
an important record of your actions. It might help you diagnose any problems
that occur.</p>
<p>Most tasks in the checklist include references to other
topics. Refer to these topics if you need more information about how to perform
a particular task.</p>
