<h4 id="rzaluippconfigserv">Configure the IPP server</h4>
|

<ol type="1">

<li>Use the following URL to access the iSeries Tasks page:
|
|
<pre class="xmp"> http://<span class="italic">system</span>:2001</pre>where <span class="italic">system</span> is the name of
|
|
the iSeries server.</li>
|
|
<li>On the iSeries Tasks page, click the icon for the IBM® IPP Server.
|
|
<p>You should now be presented
|
|
with the IBM IPP Server Administrator interface. To use the administrator interface,
|
|
you must have *IOSYSCFG authority, and you must have read and write access
|
|
to the following property files:</p>
|
|
<ul>
|
|
<li>QIBM/UserData/OS400/Ipp/conf/qippsvr-cust.conf</li>
|
|
<li>QIBM/UserData/OS400/Ipp/conf/printer.properties</li></ul><p class="indatacontent">In order to change preferences, you must have read and write access to
|
|
the preference property file, QIBM/UserData/OS400/Ipp/conf/preferences.properties,
|
|
if it exists.</p></li>
|
|
<li>If SSL connections are desired for any IPP printer, you must first enable
|
|
the IPP server to use SSL by specifying an SSL port. To enable SSL connections:
|
|
<ol type="a">
|
|
<li>Click the <span class="bold">Configuration</span> tab to load the configuration
|
|
navigational menu.</li>
|
|
<li>Click <span class="bold">Basic Configuration</span> to load the basic configuration
|
|
form.</li>
|
|
<li>Select the <span class="bold">Enabled</span> radio button.</li>
|
|
<li>Fill in a valid port number in the <span class="bold">SSL Port</span> text
|
|
field.</li>
|
|
<li>Click the <span class="bold">Apply</span> button.</li></ol>
|
|
<p>The IPP server is automatically configured to port 631 for non-SSL
|
|
data. To support upgrade to TLS on port 631, or to support SSL on a specified
|
|
port, a digital certificate must be associated with the IPP server. To do
|
|
this, use Digital Certificate Manager for iSeries™ (DCM) and associate a certificate with the IPP
|
|
server, listed as server application <tt class="xph">QIBM_IPP_QIPPSVR</tt>.</p>
|
|
<p>To
|
|
disable SSL connections, select the <span class="bold">Disabled</span> radio
|
|
button on the form and click the <span class="bold">Apply</span> button. </p>

|
|
<div class="notebody">Whenever a change is made to the configuration of the IPP server,
|
|
whether it is for SSL connections or logging information, the IPP server must
|
|
be stopped and then started again for the change to become effective.</div></li>

<li>To configure how you want access logs created, written, and archived,
|
|
follow these steps:
|
|
<ol type="a">
|
|
<li>Click the <span class="bold">Configuration</span> tab to load the configuration
|
|
navigational menu.</li>
|
|
<li>Expand the <span class="bold">Logs and Errors</span> menu item.</li>
|
|
<li>click <span class="bold">Access Logs</span> to load the access logs form.</li>
|
|
<li>Fill in the form with the appropriate information.</li>
|
|
<li>Click the <span class="bold">Apply</span> button.</li></ol></li>
|
|
<li>To configure how you want error logs created, written, and archived, perform
|
|
the following steps:

<li>Click the <span class="bold">Configuration</span> tab to load the configuration
|

<div class="notebody">The IBM IPP Server Administrator and the IBM IPP Server are
|
|
two different applications. However, error logging must be enabled for the
|
|
IPP server to allow administrator interface error logging to be enabled. If
|
|
an error occurs using the IPP server, check the IPP server error log, specified
|
|
using the error log form of the administrator interface, to help locate the
|
|
problem.</div></li></ol>
