<div><p>Using the OS/400<sup>®</sup> Telnet Client command (STRTCPTELN or TELNET),
you can specify the device name that is used to sign on to the server system.</p>
<div class="section">A disadvantage to the default approach is that it requires you to
ensure that all usage of the STRTCPTELN (TELNET) commands specify the remote
virtual display value appropriately. To alleviate this concern, you can create
a custom version of the <span class="cmdname">STRTCPTELN</span> command to ensure the
remote virtual terminal display value and invoke the IBM<sup>®</sup> supplied command.</div>
