Install tape device drivers

For information about supported tape device drivers, see Supported tape devices for Windows servers.

No special actions are required to install the drivers. The instructions
provided by the driver provider should be sufficient. Using the new tape
drivers, the tape drives look identical to drives available for xSeries® servers.
The devices are still listed by type-model number in the device locking/unlocking
utility.

After the tape device has been locked once and the server has rebooted,
there may appear to be an extra instance of the device in the Removable Storage
Manager, and some backup applications. This behavior is normal. It may be
safe to delete these extra instances. Consult your documentation. For the
latest information see Tape driver migration
on the iSeries™ integrated xSeries solutions
web site (www.ibm.com/servers/eserver/iseries/integratedxseries/windows/tape_driver_migration.html).
