|
|
<p>After you finish the necessary preliminaries (see <a href="rzahqflbackupsetup.htm#rzahqflbackupsetup">Preliminary administrator setup tasks</a>),
|
|
you are ready to back up integrated server files on i5/OS™. To be able
|
|
to restore a directory or file by share name, you must specify that file or
|
|
share name specifically on the SAV command.</p>
|
|

<dt class="bold"><span class="bold">Note:</span></dt>
|
|
<dd>To avoid duplicating data, be careful specifying what you want to save
|
|
on the SAV command. If you specify multiple share names that point to the
|
|
same directory on the integrated server, i5/OS saves the data multiple times.
|

<p>To specify what you want i5/OS to save, do this:</p>
|
|
<ol type="1">
|
|
<li>Ensure that the integrated server is active (described in <a href="rzahqstartnstop.htm#rzahqstartnstop">Start and stop an integrated server</a>).
|
|
Also ensure that the QSYSWRK subsystem, QSERVER, and TCP/IP are active (you
|
|
can do this by using the Work with Active Jobs (WRKACTJOB) command).</li>
|
|
<li>On the i5/OS command line, type <tt>SAV</tt> and press F4.</li>
|
|
<li>In the <tt>Device</tt> field, specify the device on
|
|
which you want i5/OS to save the data. For example, <tt>'QSYS.LIB/TAP01.DEVD'</tt> saves the data to tape.</li>
|
|
<li>In the <tt>Object</tt> field, specify what you want i5/OS to save in the form '/QNTC/<span class="italic">servername</span>/sharename'
|
|
|
|
<p>You can use wildcard characters. Refer to <a href="rzahqflbackupaddexamp.htm#rzahqflbackupaddexamp">Examples: How to address parts of an integrated Windows server</a> for
|
|
how to specify particular parts of the integrated server.</p></li>
|
|
<li>Use the <tt>Directory subtree</tt> field to specify
|
|
whether you want to save subtrees under a directory. The default is to save
|
|
all directories.</li>
|
|
<li>To specify that you want to save changes since the last save, specify
|
|
*LASTSAVE in the <tt>Change period</tt> field. You can
|
|
also specify a specific range of dates and times.</li>
|
|
<li>Press Enter to save the shares that you specified.</li></ol>
