<h4 id="rzahjerr-commodecon">Considerations for modes that can affect error recovery</h4>
<p>A<span class="bold"> mode description</span> is a system object that is created
for communications devices to describe the session limits and the characteristics
of the session. These characteristics can be any of the following:</p>
<ul>
<li>The maximum number of sessions allowed</li>
<li>The maximum number of conversations allowed</li>
<li>The pacing value for incoming request</li>
<li>The maximum size of request units</li>
<li>Other controlling information for the session</li></ul>
<p>You can view, create, change, and work with mode descriptions using the
Work with Mode Descriptions (WRKMODD) command.</p>
<p>The QPCSUPP (PC support) mode and QSERVER (server) modes are used by the
Client Access for Windows&reg; or iSeries&trade; Access for Windows licensed
program.</p>
