<div><p>This topic discusses xSeries<sup>®</sup> BIOS, Advanced Systems Management,
and how to maintain the most current level.</p>
<p>Verify the current level of BIOS for your xSeries model. This level can be obtained
by pressing the <kbd class="userinput">F1</kbd> key during boot up and then displaying
System Information. This allows you to check the BIOS and ASM levels installed
on the xSeries.</p>
<p>If you need to upgrade the BIOS, see <a href="rzau9reviewplandoc.htm">Reviewing the planning documentation</a> on
page 5.</p>
<p>Before upgrading the BIOS be sure that the xSeries is not cabled into the HSL loop
or SPCN network, and that it is turned on.</p>
