<p>The Integrated xSeries® Adapter has connections for HSL, SPCN, and
the xSeries service
processor. The iSeries™ must
be turned off before you cable up the Integrated xSeries Adapter installed in the xSeries.
The i5 server can concurrently attach IXAs while the server is turned on.</p>
<p>HSL and SPCN configuration and connection are beyond the scope of this

document, so refer to the following publications:</p>

<p>After the Integrated xSeries Adapter is installed, verify that it is operational
by using the Work with Communications Resources command (<span class="cmdname">WRKHDWRSC

*CMN</span>). Check to see that the 2689 resources are present and operational.</p>
<p>If you have multiple Integrated xSeries Adapters, use the same procedures
as described in <a href="rzau9verifyixs.htm">Verifying Integrated xSeries Server is operational</a> to correlate a resource
name (LINxx) with a physical Integrated xSeries Adapter. Note that the Frame
ID can be determined by removing the lid of the xSeries and reading the number on the
LED located on one side of the Integrated xSeries Adapter (The frame ID is no
longer used on i5 servers.). The LED displays the Frame ID in decimal, which
you need to compare with the Frame ID next to the LINxx resource and press <span class="uicontrol">Enter</span>.</p>
