<div><p><span>You need to create a new time zone that specifies the message
file to use.</span></p>
<div class="section">To create a time zone, complete the following steps:</div>
<ol><li><span>In iSeries™ Navigator,
expand <span class="menucascade"><span class="uicontrol">My Connections</span> &gt; <span class="uicontrol"> server-name</span> &gt; <span class="uicontrol">Configuration and Service</span> &gt; <span class="uicontrol">Time Management</span> &gt; <span class="uicontrol">Time Zones</span></span>.</span></li>
<li><span>Click <span class="uicontrol">New</span>.</span></li>
<li><span>On the General page, type <kbd class="userinput">MYTIMEZONE</kbd> for
the <span class="uicontrol">Identifier</span>.</span></li>
<li><span>Specify the hours and minutes that you want the time to be <span class="uicontrol">Offset</span> from
UTC.</span></li>
<li><span>Specify the following to use the message file that was created
in Step 1 for the Standard Time full and abbreviated names:</span><ol type="a"><li><span>Select <span class="uicontrol">Use name specified in message</span>.</span></li>
<li><span>Type <kbd class="userinput">MSG1001</kbd> in the <span class="uicontrol">Message
ID</span> field.</span></li>
<li><span>Type <kbd class="userinput">MYTZMSG</kbd> in the <span class="uicontrol">Message
file</span> field.</span></li>
<li><span>Type <kbd class="userinput">MYLIB</kbd> in the <span class="uicontrol">Library</span> field.</span></li>
</ol>

<li><span>Specify <span class="uicontrol">Time zone that uses a message description</span> in
the <span class="uicontrol">Description</span> field.</span></li>
<li><span>On the Daylight Saving Time page, select <span class="uicontrol">Enable Daylight
Saving Time</span>.</span></li>
<li><span>Specify the following information to use the message file that
was created in Step 1 for the Daylight Saving Time full and abbreviated names:</span><ol type="a"><li><span>Select <span class="uicontrol">Use name specified in message</span>.</span></li>
<li><span>Type <kbd class="userinput">MSG1002</kbd> in the <span class="uicontrol">Message
ID</span> field.</span></li>
</ol>

<li><span>Specify when to <span class="uicontrol">Start</span> daylight saving time.</span></li>
<li><span>Specify when to <span class="uicontrol">End</span> daylight saving time.</span></li>
<li><span>After you are done specifying the time zone properties, click <span class="uicontrol">OK</span>.</span></li>
<li><span><kbd class="userinput">MYTIMEZONE</kbd> is displayed in the list of <span class="uicontrol">Available
time zones</span>.</span></li>

<div class="note"><span class="notetitle">Note:</span> Time
zones are initially created with use (*USE) authority even if you are creating
a time zone based on an existing time zone. If you want to change the time
zone authority, click <span class="uicontrol">Edit</span> on the <span class="uicontrol">Time Zones</span> dialog
box. Then, click <span class="uicontrol">Permissions</span> on the General page to
edit the authority of the time zone object.</div>
<p>The time zone is created
and appears in the list of <span class="uicontrol">Available time zones</span>. To
use the new time zone on iSeries A, click <span class="uicontrol">Change system value</span>. </p>
