<div><p>You can access service tools using iSeries™ Navigator when the server has
been powered on to DST or when <span class="keyword">i5/OS™</span> is
running.</p>
<div class="section"><h4 class="sectiontitle">Access service tools using iSeries Navigator when powered on to
DST</h4><div class="note"><span class="notetitle">Note:</span> If you use Operations Console (LAN), the service tools server
is already configured.</div>
<p>To access service tools using iSeries Navigator
when the server has been powered on to DST, make sure the service tools server
is configured for DST and has been started, and then complete the following
steps:</p>
<ol><li>In iSeries Navigator,
select <span class="uicontrol">My Connections</span> or your active environment.</li>
<li>Select <span class="uicontrol">Open iSeries Navigator service tools window</span> in
the Taskpad window. If the Taskpad window is not displayed, select <span class="uicontrol">View</span> and
select <span class="uicontrol">Taskpad</span>.</li>
<li>After you select the Taskpad item, you need to type the IP
address of the server to which you want to connect.</li>
</ol>

<div class="section"><h4 class="sectiontitle">Access service tools using iSeries Navigator when running <span class="keyword">i5/OS</span></h4><p>To access service
tools using iSeries Navigator
when the server is running <strong><span class="keyword">i5/OS</span></strong>,
make sure the Service tools server is configured for <span class="keyword">i5/OS</span> and
has been started, and then complete the following steps:</p>
<ol><li>In iSeries Navigator,
expand <span class="uicontrol">My Connections</span> or your active environment.</li>
<li>Select the iSeries server
with which you want to work.</li>
<li>Select the specific service function with which you want to work.<ul><li>For logical partition management, expand <span class="uicontrol">Configuration and
Service</span>. Select <span class="uicontrol">Logical Partitions</span>.</li>
<li>For disk unit management, expand <span class="uicontrol">Configuration and Service</span>.
Expand <span class="uicontrol">Hardware</span>. Expand <span class="uicontrol">Disk Units</span>.</li>
</ul>

<li>You will be prompted to sign on using your service tools user ID.</li>
</ol>
