<div><p>When you save the storage space objects that are associated with
a logical partition virtual disks on iSeries™ server, you also need to save
the network server description (NWSD). Otherwise, a logical partition may
not be able to reestablish items such as the partitions file system permissions.</p>
<div class="section">To save the NWSD, you use the Save Configuration (SAVCFG) command:</div>
<ol><li><span>On the i5/OS<sup>®</sup> command line, type <kbd class="userinput">SAVCFG</kbd>.</span></li>
<li><span>Press <span class="uicontrol">Enter</span> to have i5/OS save the NWSD configuration.</span></li>
</ol>
<div class="section"><div class="attention"><span class="attentiontitle">Attention:</span> The save configuration command (SAVCFG) saves
the objects associated with an NWSD and the current static network server
storage spaces. It does not save the links associated with the dynamically
added storage spaces. These need to be added manually once the configuration
and the dynamically linked storage spaces have been restored.</div>
