<div><p>Specifies the locale to be used on the system. (QLOCALE)</p>
<p><span class="uicontrol">Locale</span>, also known as <span class="uicontrol">QLOCALE</span>,
is a member of the international category of i5/OS™ system values. You can use this system
value to set the locale path for the system. To learn more, keep reading.</p>

<div class="section"><h4 class="sectiontitle">What can I do with this system value?</h4><p>Sets the default
locale path for a job. The locale path name must be a path that specifies
a locale object. A locale is an object that can determine how data is processed,
printed, and displayed. Locales are made up of categories that define language,
cultural data, and character sets. These combinations of language, cultural
data, and character sets comprise a locale.</p>
<p>The following are possible
options:</p>
<ul><li><span class="uicontrol">None (*NONE)</span><p>Specifies that there is no default
locale.</p>
</li>
<li><span class="uicontrol">C locale (*C)</span><p>Indicates the C standard locale
is to be used.</p>
</li>
<li><span class="uicontrol">POSIX locale (*POSIX)</span><p>Indicates the POSIX standard
locale is to be used. The POSIX locale is equivalent to the C locale.</p>
</li>
<li><span class="uicontrol">System specified locale</span><p>Select a locale from
the list displayed in iSeries Navigator.</p>
</li>
<li><span class="uicontrol">Path name</span><p>Specify the path name of the locale
to be used.</p>
