To set up job accounting, use the character based interface.</li>

An important aspect of any data processing application is ensuring that the correct control fields are specified. For job accounting codes, this can require a complex validity-checking function that not only checks for the existence of authentic codes, but also checks which users are allowed to use specific codes.</li>
<li class="ulchildlink"><strong><a href="rzaksjbactngdispdata.htm">Display the data collected</a></strong><br />
After collecting data in the job accounting journal, you need to write the journal entries to a file and display them.</li>
<li class="ulchildlink"><strong><a href="rzaksjobacctconvert.htm">Convert job accounting journal entries</a></strong><br />
You can use the <span class="parmname">OUTFILE</span> parameter on the Display
Journal (<span class="cmdname">DSPJRN</span>) command to write the job accounting journal
entries into a database file that you can process.</li>

If a job ends abnormally, the final accounting entry is written and all previously written accounting entries appear in the journal. If an abnormal system ending occurs, the following accounting data is lost to the last routing step or last end-of-accounting segment, whichever occurred most recently.</li>
