<div><p>Use this position to specify that a named field is an output-only
or program-to-system field. Do not make an entry in this position for a constant
(unnamed) field.</p>
<div class="p">The valid entries for printer files are: <ul><li><tt>O</tt> or blank: Output only</li>
<li><tt>P</tt>: Program-to-system (special output field)</li>
</ul>
</div>
<p>Output-only fields pass data from a program to the printer when the program
prints a record.</p>
<p>A program-to-system field is a named, numeric, or alphanumeric output-only
field used to pass data between the program and the system. It is not printed.
A program can send data to the field with an output operation,
but the data is not printed.</p>
<div class="p">The following rules apply to program-to-system fields: <ul><li>The field is always named.</li>
<li>Locations are not valid.</li>
<li>Length, data type, and decimal positions are specified as for other named
fields.</li>
<li>If a program-to-system field is used in the record format, it must be
specified as a parameter on a keyword within the same record format.</li>
<li>Program-to-system fields must appear after all data fields.</li>
