<div><p>You can view a connection profile and a session log by using iSeries™ Navigator.</p>
<div class="section"><h4 class="sectiontitle">About PPP connection jobs:</h4><ul><li>There are two PPP control jobs that are used to manage the individual
PPP connection jobs. These jobs run in the QSYSWRK subsystem: <ul><li>QTPPPCTL - Main PPP Control job. This job manages each PPP connection
job.</li>
<li>QTPPPL2TP - L2TP server. This job manages the L2TP tunnel establishment
and only runs if an L2TP profile is currently running.</li>
</ul>

<li><img src="./delta.gif" alt="Start of change" />PPP connection threads in QTPPPCTL run under the QTCP user
name.<img src="./deltaend.gif" alt="End of change" /></li>
<li>SLIP connection jobs run in the QSYSWRK subsystem under the QTCP user
name. There are two types of SLIP job names: <ul><li>QTPPDIAL<em>nn</em> are dial-out jobs where <em>nn</em> is any number from
1 to 99.</li>
<li>QTPPANS<em>nn</em> are dial-in jobs where <em>nn</em> is any number from 1
to 99.</li>

<div class="section"><h4 class="sectiontitle">Work with connection profiles:</h4><ol><li>In iSeries Navigator,
expand your server, and access <span class="menucascade"><span class="uicontrol">Network</span> &gt; <span class="uicontrol">Remote Access Services</span></span>. Select <span class="uicontrol">Originator
Connection Profile</span> or <span class="uicontrol">Receiver Connection Profile</span>.</li>
<li>In the Profile column, right-click any connection profile name, and select
one of the following options: <img src="./delta.gif" alt="Start of change" /><ul><li><strong>Connections</strong> opens a window to display information about all connections
associated with the profile. The information can include connection data for
a current connection, previous connections, or both. Options to see job output,
connection details, call logs, or message logs for each connection are available. </li>
<li><strong>Properties</strong> opens the Property pages to display current properties
for a connection. </li>

<div class="section"><h4 class="sectiontitle">View connection information:</h4><ol><li>In iSeries Navigator,
expand your server, and access <span class="menucascade"><span class="uicontrol">Network</span> &gt; <span class="uicontrol">Remote Access Services</span></span>. Select <strong>Originator
Connection Profile</strong> or <span class="uicontrol">Receiver Connection Profile</span>.</li>
<li>In the Profile column, right-click any connection profile name that does
not have an Inactive status, and select <span class="uicontrol">Connections</span> to
view connection information. <p><img src="./delta.gif" alt="Start of change" />Each connection for this profile
is shown (current and previous). The status field indicates the current status
of the connection. Additional information such as the user ID of the connected
user, thread ID, local and remote IP addresses, and the name of the PPP job
might be shown depending on the status of each PPP job.<img src="./deltaend.gif" alt="End of change" /></p>

<li><img src="./delta.gif" alt="Start of change" />To view job output, details for a connection, call logs, or
message logs, right-click a connection to enable the buttons.<img src="./deltaend.gif" alt="End of change" /></li>
<li><img src="./delta.gif" alt="Start of change" />To view QTPPPCTL, click <span class="uicontrol">Jobs</span>. From the
connections window, right-click the job name, and select <span class="uicontrol">Printer
Output</span> or <span class="uicontrol">Job Log</span> to display information
about all the connection threads associated with the QTPPPCTL.<img src="./deltaend.gif" alt="End of change" /></li>
<li> To view connection details click <span class="uicontrol">Details</span>. Details
can only be displayed for currently active connections. The details window
will allow you to see additional connection information for this particular
connection.</li>

<div class="section"><h4 class="sectiontitle">Work with PPP Output from the iSeries server:</h4><p>To work with
PPP output type WRKTCPPTP at the iSeries server command line: </p>
<ul><li>To work with ALL active PPP jobs (including the QTPPPCTL and QTPPPL2TP
jobs), press <kbd class="userinput">F14</kbd> (Work with active jobs).</li>
<li>To work with all output for a particular connection profile, select <span class="uicontrol">option
8</span> (work with output) for that profile.</li>
<li>To print PPP profile configuration, select <span class="uicontrol">option 6</span> (Print)
for that profile. Then use the <span class="cmdname">WRKSPLF</span> command to access
the printed output.</li>

<div class="section"><h4 class="sectiontitle">Connection status:</h4><p>The connection profile status
is displayed in the <span class="uicontrol">Status</span> field for each profile in
the list of connection profiles under <span class="menucascade"><span class="uicontrol">Network</span> &gt; <span class="uicontrol">Remote Access Services</span></span> after selecting
either Originator or Receiver profiles. Status for an individual connection
is displayed using the Connections window.</p>
