<div><p>To limit the time required to establish a connection, you can schedule
mail dial-up jobs to connect to your Internet service provider (ISP) at regular
intervals.</p>
<div class="section"><p>If your company does not want to spend money for an expensive
leased line, iSeries™ server
provides a way for you to send and receive your company's e-mail in batches
at scheduled times, through your ISP. Use the ISP Dial-up Connection wizard
to configure the connection. Then use the SMTP scheduler to set the time intervals
that you want iSeries server
to connect to your ISP and send your company's e-mail.</p>
<p>To set the SMTP
scheduler to send your e-mail to an ISP, complete the following steps:</p>

<ol><li><span>In iSeries Navigator,
expand <span class="menucascade"><span class="uicontrol">your iSeries Server</span> &gt; <span class="uicontrol">Network</span> &gt; <span class="uicontrol">Servers</span> &gt; <span class="uicontrol">TCP/IP</span></span>.</span></li>
<li><span>Double-click <span class="uicontrol">SMTP</span>. The <span class="wintitle">SMTP Properties
dialog</span> appears.</span></li>
<li><span>Click the <span class="uicontrol">Scheduler</span> tab.</span></li>
<li><span>Select the <span class="uicontrol">Start scheduler when SMTP is started</span> check
box.</span></li>
<li><span>Select the <span class="uicontrol">Point-to-point connection profile</span> you
configured with the AT&amp;T Global Network Dialer Wizard, or select a manually
configured <span class="uicontrol">Point-to-point connection profile</span>.</span></li>
<li><span>Set the <span class="uicontrol">Mail transfer interval</span> to the number
of minutes you want SMTP to deliver your queued e-mail.</span></li>
<li><span>If your ISP is not with the AT&amp;T Global Network, select the <span class="uicontrol">Issue
ETRN when connecting to remote server</span> check box.</span></li>
<li><span>Enter the Server IP address for the incoming mail server on the
ISP's network, and enter the Registered ISP host.domain for which this SMTP
server will issue an ETRN.</span></li>
<li><span>Click <span class="uicontrol">OK</span>.</span></li>
