<div><p>Use this information to configure TCP/IP on supported Windows<sup>®</sup> operating
systems. </p>
<p>TCP/IP must be correctly installed and configured before you try to connect
to an <span class="keyword">iSeries™</span> server.</p>
<div class="note"><span class="notetitle">Notes:</span> <ol><li>This information assumes that you have TCP/IP configured on your <span class="keyword">iSeries</span> server. If TCP/IP is not configured
on your <span class="keyword">iSeries</span> server, see <a href="rzaijlantcp.htm#lantcp">Configure TCP/IP on the iSeries server</a>.</li>
<li>Virtual private network (VPN) is an option for secure remote connections.
VPN is supported on PCs running Windows 2000, Windows XP,
or Windows Server
2003, and on <span class="keyword">iSeries</span> servers
with i5/OS™ V5R1
and later. For <span class="keyword">iSeries</span> VPN
