<div><div class="section"> <p>You can install secondary languages from an iSeries™ server
that has both iSeries Access
for Windows<sup>®</sup> (5722XE1)
and the desired secondary language installed. For more information about installing
secondary languages to an iSeries server, see the Install, upgrade, or delete i5/OS™ and
related software topic collection in the Information Center.</p>
<p>You can
install secondary languages during a new installation, an upgrade, or a selective
install.</p>

<ul><li><span>To install a secondary language during a new installation:</span><ol><li><span>Map a drive to the iSeries QIBM sharepoint (<samp class="codeph">\\<em>NetServerName</em>\QIBM</samp>)</span></li>
<li><span>Double-click <span class="menucascade"><span class="uicontrol">QIBM</span> &gt; <span class="uicontrol">ProdData</span> &gt; <span class="uicontrol">Access</span> &gt; <span class="uicontrol">Windows</span> &gt; <span class="uicontrol">Install</span> &gt; <span class="uicontrol">Image</span> &gt; <span class="uicontrol">Setup.exe</span></span> to
start the setup program.</span></li>
<li><span>Choose a <span class="uicontrol">Full</span> installation to have all
the secondary languages, along with all the other iSeries Access for Windows components
installed to your PC. Choose a <strong>Custom</strong> installation to select which
secondary languages and components you want installed to your PC.</span></li>
<li><span>Complete the wizard.</span></li>
</ol>

<li><span>To install a secondary language during an upgrade: </span><ol><li><span>Map a drive to the iSeries QIBM sharepoint (<samp class="codeph">\\<em>NetServerName</em>\QIBM</samp>)</span></li>
<li><span>Double-click <span class="menucascade"><span class="uicontrol">QIBM</span> &gt; <span class="uicontrol">ProdData</span> &gt; <span class="uicontrol">Access</span> &gt; <span class="uicontrol">Windows</span> &gt; <span class="uicontrol">Install</span> &gt; <span class="uicontrol">Image</span> &gt; <span class="uicontrol">Setup.exe</span></span> to
start the setup program.</span></li>
<li><span>If you had the secondary language installed in the previous
version, choose the <span class="uicontrol">Basic</span> upgrade. If you did not have
the secondary language installed, choose the <span class="uicontrol">Selective</span> upgrade
to select which secondary languages and components you want to add or remove.</span></li>
<li><span>Complete the wizard.</span></li>
</ol>

<li><span>To install a secondary language after iSeries Access for Windows has
been installed:</span><ol><li><span>Map a drive to the iSeries QIBM sharepoint (<samp class="codeph">\\<em>NetServerName</em>\QIBM</samp>)</span></li>
<li><span>Click <span class="menucascade"><span class="uicontrol">Start</span> &gt; <span class="uicontrol">Programs</span> &gt; <span class="uicontrol">IBM iSeries Access for Windows</span> &gt; <span class="uicontrol">Selective
Setup</span></span>.</span></li>
<li><span>In Selective Setup options, type the letter of the drive you
mapped to the iSeries.
Click <span class="uicontrol">Next</span>.</span></li>
<li><span>Select the secondary languages and components you want to add
or remove.</span></li>
<li><span>Complete the wizard.</span></li>

<div class="section"><p>After you have installed the secondary language, use <span class="uicontrol">iSeries
Access for Windows Properties</span> to select the language you want
to use. </p>
<div class="note"><span class="notetitle">Note:</span> If you decide to install the .NET Data Provider after you
have installed secondary languages, you must: <ol><li>Use Selective Setup to uninstall the secondary language. <ul><li>The IntelliSense feature for secondary languages is not supported by the
.NET Data Provider, if the secondary language is not uninstalled. </li>
</ul>

<li>Install the .NET Data Provider.</li>
<li>Use Selective Setup to install the secondary language.</li>
</ol>
