<div><div class="section"> <p>To install <span class="keyword">iSeries™ Access for Windows<sup>®</sup></span> from
|
|
the iSeries Setup
|
|
and Operations CD-ROM, <em> SK3T-4098-02</em>, do the following:</p>
|
|
</div>
|
|
<ol><li><span>If you are using a Windows Server 2003, from a command
|
|
line, run the command: <samp class="codeph">chgusr /install</samp>.</span></li>
|
|
<li><span>Insert the CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive.</span></li>
|
|
<li><span>If your CD-ROM drive is set to automatically run programs, follow
|
|
these steps: </span><ol type="a"><li><span>Click <strong>Install <span class="keyword">iSeries Access for Windows</span></strong>.</span></li>
|
|
<li><span>Go to step <a href="#cd__sjofcaecd">5</a>.</span></li>
|
|
</ol>
|
|

|
|
<li><span>If your CD-ROM drive is <strong>not</strong> set to automatically run programs,
|
|
follow these steps: </span><ol type="a"><li><span>Go to the root directory of the CD-ROM and double-click <strong>launch.exe</strong>.</span></li>
|
|
<li><span>Click <strong>Install <span class="keyword">iSeries Access for Windows</span></strong>.</span></li>
|
|
</ol>
|
|

|
|
<li id="cd__sjofcaecd"><a name="cd__sjofcaecd"><!-- --></a><span>Once the <span class="keyword">iSeries Access for Windows</span> setup
|
|
program begins, follow the instructions and online help in the program.</span></li>
|
|
<li><span>If you are using a Windows Server 2003, after the setup
|
|
program finishes, from a command line, run the command: <samp class="codeph">chgusr /execute</samp>.</span></li>
|
|
</ol>
|
|
<div class="section"> <div class="note"><span class="notetitle">Notes:</span> <ol><li>During an <span class="keyword">iSeries Access for Windows</span> installation,
|
|
you cannot install plug-ins, and secondary languages from the <span class="keyword">iSeries</span> server.
|
|
After the CD install completes, you can use Selective Setup to add these components.
|
|
You can access Selective Setup by clicking <span class="menucascade"><span class="uicontrol">Start</span> > <span class="uicontrol">Programs</span> > <span class="uicontrol">Selective Setup</span></span>.
|
|
When Selective Setup is run, you must specify the appropriate iSeries directory.
|
|
For information about determining the appropriate directory, see <a href="hdrpathdisc.htm">Path discovery for iSeries Access for
|
|
Windows installations</a>.</li>
|
|
<li>To change the install source for automatic Service Pack and release upgrades,
|
|
use the <strong>Service</strong> page of <strong>iSeries Access for Windows Properties</strong>.
|
|
If you are installing <span class="keyword">iSeries Access for Windows</span> for
|
|
the first time and you do not update the install source, CheckVersion checks
|
|
the CD-ROM drive for service packs and upgrades. If you are upgrading <span class="keyword">iSeries Access for Windows</span> and if CheckVersion is configured
|
|
to check a certain directory, CheckVersion checks the specified directory
|
|
and does not check the CD-ROM.<p></p>
|
|

plug-ins.</li>
