<div class="section"><h4 class="sectiontitle">Step 1: Install</h4><p>Three easy steps to get you on your
|
|
way to using the <span>IBM Web Administration for i5/OS interface</span>.

<ol><li>Your first step is to install the <span>IBM Web Administration for i5/OS interface</span>.
|
|
See <a href="rzaieinstalling.htm">Install and test the HTTP Server</a> for more information.</li>

<li>Make sure you have the correct user profiles and required authorities
|
|
for HTTP Server. See <a href="rzaiesetauth.htm">User profiles and required authorities for HTTP Server</a> for
|

more information. </li>

<li>Finally, test your installation of the <span>IBM Web Administration for i5/OS interface</span>.

<div class="section"><h4 class="sectiontitle">Step 2: Set up an HTTP Server (powered by Apache) instance</h4><p>Once
|
|
the <span>IBM Web Administration for i5/OS interface</span> is ready, it
|
|
is time to set up your first HTTP Server (powered by Apache) instance. </p>
|
|
<p>Use the <strong>Create HTTP
|
|
Server wizard</strong> to quickly create a working HTTP Server (powered by Apache)
|
|
configuration. </p>
|
|
<ol><li>Start the IBM iSeries™ Tasks
|
|
page. <p><strong>Non-secure connection</strong>: http://your.server.name:2001/ </p>
|
|

connection</strong>: https://your.server.name:2010/ <div class="note"><span class="notetitle">Note:</span> *ADMIN HTTP server for
|
|
SSL configuration is required for secure connections. For more information,

<li>Click <strong>IBM Web Administration for i5/OS™</strong></li>
|
|
<li>Click the <strong>Setup</strong> tab. </li>
|
|
<li>Expand <strong>Common Tasks and Wizards</strong>.<div class="note"><span class="notetitle">Note:</span> By default, all lists are
|
|
expanded. If you collapse any list, the <span>IBM Web Administration for i5/OS interface</span> displays
|
|
the list as collapsed the next time you view it. </div>
|
|
</li>
|
|
<li>Click <strong>Create HTTP Server</strong>. </li>
|
|
<li>Enter a name to identify your HTTP Server (powered by Apache). This name
|
|
is used later to configure and administer your server. Enter a server description
|
|
to help identify your server.</li>
|
|
<li>Click <strong>Next</strong>. </li>
|
|
<li>Enter the server root. The server root is the base directory for your
|
|
HTTP Server. Within this directory, the wizard creates subdirectories for
|
|
your logs, and configuration information. If the server root does not exist,
|
|
the <strong>Create HTTP Server wizard</strong> creates one for you. </li>
|
|
<li>Click <strong>Next</strong>. </li>
|
|
<li>Enter the document root. The document root is the directory from which
|
|
your documents are served by your HTTP Server. If the directory root does
|
|
not exist, the <strong>Create HTTP Server wizard</strong> creates one for you. </li>
|
|
<li>Click <strong>Next</strong>. </li>
|
|
<li>Leave the IP address list as <strong>All addresses</strong>. You may select a specific
|
|
IP address if you so choose. </li>
|
|
<li>Enter a port number. By default, the port is 80. This is the port your
|
|
Web site runs (or "listens on"). It is suggested you enter a different port
|
|
other than 80 because a port can only be used by one server at any time. </li>
|
|
<li>Click <strong>Next</strong>. </li>
|
|
<li>Select <strong>Yes</strong> or <strong>No</strong> for the <strong>Create HTTP Server wizards</strong> to
|
|
create an access log. The access log contains information about requests made
|
|
to your HTTP Server. This information is useful for analyzing who is accessing
|
|
your Web site and how many requests have been made during a specific period
|
|
of time. </li>
|
|
<li>Click <strong>Next</strong>. </li>
|
|
<li>Specify how long you want to keep the error and access log files. Select <strong>Keep,
|
|
do not delete</strong> or <strong>Delete based upon age</strong>.</li>
|
|
<li>Click <strong>Next</strong>.</li>
|
|
<li>The <strong>Create HTTP Server wizard</strong> displays a summary of HTTP Server
|
|
(powered by Apache) configuration it creates. If you want to change an entry,
|
|
simply click <strong>Back</strong>. </li>
|
|
<li>Click <strong>Finish</strong> and HTTP Server (powered by Apache) is created. </li>
|
|
</ol>

<div class="section"><h4 class="sectiontitle">Step 3: Start and test your HTTP Server (powered by Apache)</h4><p>After
|
|
using the <strong>Create HTTP Server wizard</strong>, it is time to start your Web server
|
|
and go live. </p>
|
|
<ol><li>Click the <strong>Start icon</strong> next to the <strong>Server list</strong>. </li>
|
|
<li>Click the Refresh icon and check if the server status is still shown as
|
|
"Running". <p>If your HTTP Server (powered by Apache) does not start, see <a href="rzaietrouble.htm">Troubleshoot</a>.</p>
|
|
</li>
|
|
<li>Open another Web browser of your choice (see <a href="rzaieinstalling.htm#rzaieinstalling__web">Web browser requirements</a>) and go to <samp class="codeph">http://<em>your.server.name</em>:<em>port</em>/</samp> where <em>your.server.name</em> is
|
|
the name of your i5/OS server and <em>port</em> is the port number you entered
|
|
in the <strong>Create HTTP Server wizard</strong>.</li>
|
