Tip: Find resource names when you have multiple integrated servers

You can have multiple integrated servers of the same type installed on
your iSeries™. If so, you may not be able to tell them apart on the Display Communication Resources display.

To find out which integrated server a resource name refers to, follow these
steps:

If you are not already at the Display Communication
Resources display, type DSPHDWRSC *CMN; then
press Enter.

Type a 7 in the Opt field to the left of the resource name for a File server IOA . The Display Resource Detail display appears. For iSCSI attached servers, locate the Network Server Host Adapter. This is the resource
to be used when creating an NWSH object. The NWSH object name is used when
installing the NWSD.

Look at the Card Position under the Physical Location heading.

Look at the labels on the slots of your iSeries. One slot should be labeled with the
same number or combination of letters and numbers shown in the Card Position field. This slot contains the Integrated xSeries® Server hardware
to which the resource name refers.

Go back to Installation worksheet for i5/OS parameters.
