<div class="section"><p>The System Status components in the vaccess package allow you
to create GUIs by using the existing <a href="vpanes.htm#vpanes">AS400Panes</a>.
You also have the option to create your own GUIs using the Java™ Foundation
Classes (JFC). The <a href="javadoc/com/ibm/as400/vaccess/VSystemStatus.html"> VSystemStatus</a> object represents a system status on the
server. The <a href="vsyspool.htm#vsyspool">VSystemPool</a> object
represents a system pool on the server. The <a href="vsyspane.htm#vsyspane"> VSystemStatusPane</a> represents
a visual pane that displays the system status information.</p>

<div class="section"><p>The <a href="javadoc/com/ibm/as400/vaccess/VSystemStatus.html"> VSystemStatus</a> class allows you to get information about
the status of a server session within a GUI environment:</p>

<div class="section"><ul><li>The <a href="javadoc/com/ibm/as400/vaccess/VSystemStatus.html#GETSYSTEM()"> getSystem()</a> method returns the server where the system
status information is contained</li>
<li>The <a href="javadoc/com/ibm/as400/vaccess/VSystemStatus.html#GETTEXT()"> getText()</a> method returns the description text</li>
<li>The <a href="javadoc/com/ibm/as400/vaccess/VSystemStatus.html#SETSYSTEM(COM.IBM.AS400.ACCESS.AS400)"> setSystem()</a> method sets the server where the system
status information is located</li>

<div class="section"><p>In addition to the methods mentioned above, you can also access
and change <a href="vsyspool.htm#vsyspool">system pool</a> information
in a GUI.</p>

<div class="section"><p>You use VSystemStatus with <a href="javadoc/com/ibm/as400/vaccess/VSystemStatusPane.html"> VSystemStatusPane</a>. VSystemPane is the visual display
pane where information is shown for both system status and system pool.</p>
