<div><p>The <samp class="codeph">javac</samp> tool compiles Java™ programs.
It is compatible with the <samp class="codeph">javac</samp> tool that is supplied by
Sun Microsystems, Inc. with one exception.</p>
<dl><dt class="dlterm"><strong>-classpath</strong></dt>
<dd>Does not override the default classpath. Instead, it is appended to the
system default classpath. The <samp class="codeph">-classpath</samp> option does override
the CLASSPATH environment variable.</dd>
</dl>
<p>The <samp class="codeph">javac</samp> tool is available using the Qshell Interpreter.</p>
<p>If you have JDK 1.1.x installed on your iSeries™ server as your default, but you
need to run the <samp class="codeph">java</samp> command from version 1.2 or higher,
enter this command:</p>
<blockquote><pre>javac -djava.version=1.2 &lt;<em>my_dir</em>&gt; MyProgram.java</pre>
