<div><p>The Copy to Import File (CPYTOIMPF) command reads data from a user
from-file and copies it into an import file. The number of jobs used for copy
is one. The data of the import file can be formatted by delimiters or it can
be in a fixed format.</p>
<div class="section"><p><a href="rbal3cpy.htm#rbal3cpy">Notes on the delimited import file (CPYTOIMPF command)</a> has a series of characters
(delimiters) that are used to define where fields begin and end. See <a href="rbal3restcpy.htm#rbal3restcpy">Restrictions for the CPYTOIMPF command</a> for more information.</p>

<div class="section"><p>The parameters of the command define which characters are used
for delimiters. A fixed format import file uses a fixed format. For more information,
see <a href="rbal3datfile.htm#rbal3datfile">Copy data to the import file in a fixed format (CPYTOIMPF command)</a>.</p>
<p>The data in
the from-file is read from the formatted database file and written to the
import file with the parameters from the command.</p>
<div class="p">If a user profile
exists for the same library name that is being copied from, at least one of
the following authority will be needed: <ul><li>The system authority *ADD to the user profile with that name.</li>
<li>Administrative authority</li>
</ul>

<div class="p">The from-file can be any of these: <ul><li>A source physical file</li>
<li>A program described physical file</li>
<li>A distributed physical file</li>
<li>A single format logical file</li>
<li>An externally described physical file</li>
</ul>

<li>a source physical file</li>
<li>a program described physical file</li>
<li>a distributed physical file with one non-numeric field</li>
<li>an externally described physical file with one non-numeric field</li>
